Everyone Is a Teacher
Today is Teacher’s Day.
And it makes me think.
Who is a teacher?
Is it only someone who teaches us in a classroom?
I don't think so.
Life gives us many teachers.
Our parents.
Our school teachers.
Our mentors.
Our friends.
Our colleagues.
Our managers.
Our team members.
Even our competitors.
Even those who challenge us.
Even those who disappoint us.
Everyone teaches us something.
Some show us the right path.
Some show us the path we should avoid.
Some give us confidence.
Some give us perspective.
Some open doors.
Some make us find our own doors.
Every interaction leaves something behind.
A thought.
A lesson.
An experience.
A question.
A realization.
And slowly, all these pieces shape our journey.
There is another interesting dimension today.
We are living in the AI era.
Information is no longer difficult to find.
AI can provide information in seconds.
Knowledge is everywhere.
But information alone does not create growth.
A good teacher does something more.
A good teacher helps us understand what to look for.
Where to look for it.
Which tool to use.
How to use it.
And perhaps most importantly,
what to use first, what to use next, and why.
The real value of a teacher is not just providing information.
It is providing context, direction, sequence and judgment.
AI may tell us what.
A teacher helps us understand why, when and how.
That is what makes teaching timeless.
And this applies beyond classrooms.
In our personal life.
In our professional life.
In our careers.
In our relationships.
In every challenge we face.
We learn from people.
We learn from situations.
We learn from successes.
We learn from failures.
And I believe there are only two outcomes.
A win.
Or a learning.
Nothing else.
A success gives us confidence.
A failure gives us perspective.
A mentor gives us direction.
A difficult person teaches us patience.
A colleague teaches us collaboration.
A competitor pushes us to improve.
A mistake teaches us better judgment.
A challenge makes us stronger.
Everyone contributes to our growth.
Sometimes knowingly.
Sometimes unknowingly.
Sometimes for years.
Sometimes for just a few moments.
But the lesson remains.
So, on this Teacher’s Day, I am grateful.
Grateful to everyone who has been part of my journey.
To those who supported me.
To those who guided me.
To those who challenged me.
To those who believed in me.
And even to those who made the journey difficult.
You all taught me something.
You all contributed to my growth.
You all helped me find my path.
Perhaps we don't choose all our teachers.
Life chooses many of them for us.
And perhaps every person we meet is a teacher in some way.
So today, a simple thank you.
To every teacher.
Every mentor.
Every parent.
Every friend.
Every colleague.
Every team member.
Every challenger.
And every person who has crossed my path.
Thank you for being a teacher in your own way.
Happy Teacher’s Day! 🙏
And as we move forward in this AI era, let us remember:
Information may be everywhere.
But wisdom still needs guidance.
Because in life, it is always a win or a learning.
Nothing else.
